A dynamic delegation of Korean startups is set to visit the UAE from October 14 to 17, 2024, as part of the Global Relay IR @Dubai Program of the Super Gap Startup 1000+ Project, also known as DIPS 1000+, with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) and the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED). The mission: to explore expansion opportunities in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) market. The startups, hailing from sectors such as Eco-friendly and energy, Bio and healthcare, and AI/Big Data , will engage in a series of impactful activities aimed at fostering business growth and cross-border collaborations.
An Immersive Four-Day Experience
Over the course of 4 days, these Korean startups will immerse themselves in the UAE’s vibrant business environment through a combination of lectures, networking sessions, and hands-on experiences. The program will include:
- Lectures on key topics such as the current status of eco-friendly and energy technologies in the UAE and their applications in both B2B and B2C industries. Participants will gain insights into Dubai’s startup ecosystem and strategies for expanding K-Super Gap Startups into the MENA region. Practical legalities for entering the Middle Eastern market, including export contracts, investment agreements, and technology information protection, will also be covered.
- Investor Relations (IR) sessions where the startups will pitch their innovative solutions to a panel of investors and business leaders from Dubai and other Middle Eastern countries.. This will be a prime opportunity for the startups to secure funding and partnerships.
- VC Mentoring and Meetings with investment institutions, various global corporations and potential buyers, offering valuable feedback and opportunities for collaboration.
- A Visit to Dubai AI Campus for startup networking, including a lecture on the UAE’s AI industry development policies and the future outlook of the AI sector in the Middle East.
Meet the Korean Super Gap Startups
The delegation, that was selected as the super gap startup by MSS, KISED and SYP, will bring innovative solutions to the table:
- NationA: This AI startup has developed a cutting-edge SaaS platform that leverages generative AI technology to simplify 3D/4D content creation. Users can easily produce high-quality 3D motion content using text, voice, or video inputs.
- A.virtual: The company has created an advanced air solution featuring nano-metal filters that remove indoor air pollutants and infectious agents in just 5 minutes, integrated into a high-performance sterilization device.
- FOODYWARM: By utilizing black soldier flies, this startup recycles organic waste and produces sustainable protein sources. It also develops eco-friendly materials for pet food and healthcare products while advancing mass breeding technologies to reduce organic waste.
- Vpplab: Specializing in wind energy, Vpplab’s flagship service, ‘flow-V,’ is a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) platform that provides real-time power generation prediction and power bidding solutions, expanding into B2B and B2C markets with innovative renewable energy services.
- Terracle: Terracle specializes in transforming challenging-to-recycle plastic wastes—including plastics, textiles, automobile parts, and marine waste—into high-quality recycled materials using low-impact chemical recycling methods. Our products are Cr-TPA and Cr-EG, which are raw materials for plastics.
- Infofla: Recognized as a generative AI hidden champion at the Amazon AWS Summit Korea 2024, Infofla specializes in AI-based automation technology, offering advanced solutions that replace legacy automation products with its VLAgent.
- FOEL : FOEL, developed by GIST in South Korea, is an electricity-free cooling material inspired by Saharan silver ants. It reflects sunlight and emits infrared radiation, reducing energy consumption by at least 10%. FOEL can be applied to vehicles, buildings, and industrial facilities, enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability. Its transformative potential helps reduce carbon emissions across various industries.
- Ehancreative: Leveraging generative AI technology, Ehancreative’s SaaS-based educational solutions enhance collaboration between teachers and students, providing innovative tools for content creation and interaction that enrich the learning experience.
