Korean startup N.Light, which has developed the 3D design software ‘N.Cad,’ attracted 8 billion won ($6.63 million) in Series A investment. Korea Development Bank and CJ Investment newly participated in this round with IMM Investment, and existing investors Naver D2SF and Capstone Partners continued their follow-up investment.

N.Light is a 3D technology startup founded in January 2020 and has developed a design studio, ‘N.Cad,’ that can easily create high-quality 3D assets using its 3D engine. N.Cad’s strengths are its easy usability and compatibility with various platforms. It supports simultaneous work on multiple platforms based on a web browser. About a year after its official release, N.Cad’s 60% of users are teenagers, and more than 300,000 3D assets are created annually. In particular, it is getting many responses from users making 3D assets for the first time.

Since attracting pre-series A investment in 2021, N.Light has advanced its products through technical cooperation with partners such as Naver and KT. With investment from D2SF with Naver, the engine’s usability and safety were strengthened through technical cooperation, such as upgrading the 3D design studio based on the web.

N. Light is also recognized for its technological prowess in the global market. N.Light’s 3D modeling engine, along with Unity and Unreal, was selected as the ‘2022 Major 3D engine Leading the Global Metaverse Market’ by CB Insights. N.CAD has won the Innovation Award in the CES 2023 Software & Mobile Apps category.

Currently, N.Light’s 3D engine and design studio are used for corporate customers who need to build a 3D authoring environment. There are also various industries such as the metaverse platform that needs to build a 3D content authoring environment, e-commerce that wants to provide product information in 3D, real estate that wants to convert space into 3D, and the interior of automobile environments.
