In recent years the popularity of cell therapy in the field of regenerative medicine has increased tremendously. South Korean company Cell2in is leading the way in the field of cell therapy through its extraordinary Research & Development facility. The start-up has been co-founded by professors of top-ranked universities in South Korea.

The main area of research of Cell2in is to improvise the quality of cells, specially for cell therapy, cell culturing and stem cells. The company is making improvements in regenerative medicine, improved vitality of stem cells and identification of ingredients to enhance cells through cell culture media or be used in cosmetics. The current drawback in the field though is the absence of quality control methods in cell therapy, to evaluate the usefulness of the therapeutics Cell2in intents to resolve this problem through their revolutionary platform technology for quality control assessment in cell therapy.

Cell2in’s platform technology called FreSHtracer is the very first method in the world to safely measure glutathione or GSH level in living cells.

Glutathione is most important for fighting harmful oxidants that can damage healthy cells. With the technology by Cell2in scientists can grow and select cells with increased viability. This technology provides a reliable, cost-effective method to monitor the key cellular function in real-time and has a great potential to become an indispensable tool in cell manufacturing and cell therapy, which is widely accepted as the next frontier of medicine.

In addition to cell therapy, development of traditional pharmaceutical and cosmetic ingredients with anti-aging effects is another important area where FreSHtracer technology can find its direct applications.

Screening antioxidant activities were never easier before; one can now easily assess compounds’ antioxidant capacities by comparing how fast a cell restore its GSH level with or without the compound treatment. Considering the growing market demands for new antioxidants with potential anti-aging effects, our technology can serve as a fast, reliable method to screen a large number of compounds against various cell types. Development of well-formulated cell culture media is also a big business area where FreSHtracer can be used as a valuable cell quality monitoring tool, thus ensuring clinically acceptable bioprocess for the reproducible production of quality-assured cells.

Cell2in is run by a small team of researchers working hard

to bring in advancement in regenerative medicine field.

To bring their technology to forefront they are constantly looking for financial collaborators to help support costs of research and development. Recently, the company signed a technology agreement with Israel bio company Cellect to strengthen stem cell technology.

Cell2in is charting territories where no other company in the world has gone before. The company’s mission is to advance the field of medicine by developing quality control techniques and treatments through the augmentation of Glutathione in cells. This would mean that treatments like stem cell therapy may become safe and viable options for people suffering from disease.
