Korean startup Grepp has partnered with Prometric to expand AI exam proctoring and computer-based testing (CBT) worldwide. The alliance targets higher assurance in the global edtech and AI digital assessment market by combining Grepp’s Monito platform with Prometric’s international testing infrastructure for secure, scalable, technology-driven evaluations.
Grepp – Prometric Partnership: Expanding AI Exam Proctoring Globally
Grepp, known for the online testing platform Monito and the developer assessment and education service Programmers, announced the agreement on August 11, 2025. Under the deal, Grepp will distribute both platforms through Prometric’s global network of 8,000-plus testing centers in more than 180 countries.
The companies will also co-develop a digital assessment model that integrates Grepp’s AI-powered exam proctoring technology with Prometric’s international test delivery and administration systems. The joint solution is intended to meet regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions while maintaining strong quality control and operational reliability.
Prometric’s Role and Market Position in Global Computer-Based Testing
Prometric is widely recognized as the world’s No. 2 CBT provider and delivers major international exams such as the U.S. Certified Public Accountant (AICPA) exam and the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP).
Prometric brings deep expertise across the testing lifecycle, covering candidate management, exam administration, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. This operational capability provides the infrastructure needed to scale AI-driven proctoring solutions to a global audience.
Key Strategic Goals of the Grepp – Prometric Partnership
The partnership responds to a rapidly evolving global testing environment with growing demand for secure, accessible, and remote-compatible evaluations.
Grepp and Prometric plan to:
- Integrate AI exam proctoring with large-scale CBT delivery systems.
- Build jurisdiction-compliant testing environments that meet national regulatory standards.
- Conduct joint R&D on assessment content, delivery, and quality assurance.
- Support educational institutions, certification bodies, and enterprises with scalable exam operations.
According to Grepp CEO Lim Sung-su, the collaboration represents “a significant turning point” in the company’s mission to build a global digital assessment ecosystem.
“Together with Prometric, we will expand AI-based environments so anyone can fairly verify their skills and grow across the world,” Lim said.
Humphrey Chan, Prometric’s Asia-Pacific Managing Director, said:
“We look forward to creating a new standard in the AI-based digital assessment market with Grepp. This will allow us to deliver more reliable testing environments to candidates and educational institutions worldwide.”
Global Ecosystem Impact and Future Outlook for AI Exam Proctoring
This alliance positions Grepp among the few Korean startups with direct access to a distribution network of Prometric’s scale in global edtech and digital assessment.
For Korea’s startup ecosystem, it highlights the rising global relevance of AI-driven education technology, which blends machine learning, remote monitoring, and regulatory compliance for academic and professional certification markets.
If executed well, the partnership could influence CBT operational practices, raise assurance levels for AI exam proctoring, and strengthen Korea’s presence in exportable edtech infrastructure.
