DOWHAT Wins Techsauce Innovation Awards 2025 at Bangkok Demo Day
Korean smart hotel platform company DOWHAT has won the Techsauce Innovation Awards 2025 at the Bangkok Tourism Startup Center (KTSC) Demo Day, becoming the only Korean startup recognized at the event.
The Demo Day was held from August 4 to 6 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok as part of the Techsauce Global Summit 2025, one of Asia’s leading gatherings for startups, investors, and technology leaders.
Ten Korean tourism and tech startups joined the program to explore opportunities in the Thai market, with DOWHAT receiving the highest recognition from the local judging panel.
DOWHAT: Hotel Digital Transformation Platform with Global Potential
DOWHAT specializes in a smart hotel digital transformation (DX) platform that integrates the full spectrum of hotel operations. Its solutions include direct booking and central reservation systems (CRS), smart kiosk and mobile check-in/out, keyless entry, smart concierge, integrated back-office, CRM, IoT management, and contactless payment systems.
The platform is already deployed across three- to five-star hotels, resorts, and serviced residences in Korea. With demand for hospitality tech in Southeast Asia rising, DOWHAT is positioning itself as a scalable solution — effectively a multi-agent SaaS for hotels — to serve international markets.
Global Expansion Strategy Anchored in Southeast Asia
To accelerate overseas growth, DOWHAT has established a Singapore subsidiary and opened a Bangkok office, laying the foundation for deeper engagement in the region. The company noted that during the Demo Day, it was able to move beyond pitching to hold direct business meetings with Thai companies, resulting in substantive discussions on potential partnerships.
Co-CEO Sung Byung-kwon said,
“This event was not just a showcase, but a platform for concrete business negotiations with local partners. It will serve as a stepping stone for expanding our business across Southeast Asia, beyond Thailand.”
Upcoming Engagements in ASEAN Hospitality Market
Following participation in Travel & Tech Asia in July, DOWHAT is preparing for another major showcase at the Food & Hospitality Thailand 2025 exhibition, scheduled for August 20–23 in Bangkok.
Co-CEO Kim Joo-young stated,
“Through this exhibition, we plan to strengthen our networks with hotel and resort stakeholders across Southeast Asia and accelerate our global expansion, using Thailand as a regional hub.”
Ecosystem Support and Industry Significance
The KTSC Demo Day is organized by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) to support Korean startups in expanding abroad, particularly in the fast-growing tourism and hospitality sectors. Recognition at Techsauce underscores not only DOWHAT innovation and localization strategy but also the global competitiveness of Korean startups in the hospitality tech market.
By combining integrated hotel DX solutions with a clear Southeast Asia market strategy, DOWHAT demonstrates how Korean startups can translate technological capabilities into commercially viable global expansion. The award also highlights the effectiveness of Korea Tourism Organization’s startup support programs in helping domestic companies establish footholds in international markets.
