1Billion Partners, a Korean accelerator focusing on early-stage startups, held a Portfolio Startup Performance Sharing event in Seoul on July 21. The event served as a platform for the accelerator’s investees to showcase their remarkable achievements and foster collaboration among the burgeoning startup community.

The event saw the participation of numerous successful startups, including Gadget Korea, To the Moon, Field Mentor, Snapcell, Pleisure, Quevia Company, Moment Studio, GI Billions, Standby, and more. Choi Sung-Hee, CEO of 1Billion Partners, expressed the significance of information sharing and collaboration among portfolio companies, emphasizing their commitment to supporting one another through their respective entrepreneurial journeys.

The performance sharing event delved into critical topics such as industry regulations, support projects, team building, motivation strategies, overseas expansion, and marketing tactics. Attendees gained valuable business insights from experienced entrepreneurs, ensuring that each participant learns from the successes and challenges others face.

Chief Park Jin-ho, an expert in personal information protection at KCA, delivered a special lecture tailored to small and medium-sized startups. The session aimed to equip these young businesses with the knowledge and tools necessary to safeguard customer data and privacy, a crucial aspect of building trust with their user base.

The event’s main sponsor, Pleisure, a tennis life platform led by CEO Hwang Jeong-yoon, shared its inspiring success stories in hosting international competitions, securing licenses for tennis events, and establishing B2B partnerships. The company’s pioneering role as the sole sponsor of the prestigious ‘2023 Pleasure ATP Seoul Open Challenger Tour,’ an international tennis tournament, set a precedent for startups aspiring to impact their respective industries significantly.

Choi Young-seong, CEO of ‘GI Billions, operator of Toothnote, shared how the company successfully transitioned from an oral care brand to a premium bathroom lifestyle brand, expanding its presence from online to offline markets. G.I. Billions also made a mark by sponsoring the 2023 Pleasure ATP Seoul Open Challenger Tour.  

Snapcell’s CEO, Yoon So-hyun, presented valuable insights into the Indonesian e-commerce market. The marketing service for online sellers in Indonesia discussed strategies to verify product-market fit and attract new sellers in the overseas market. Joong-seop Hong, CEO of the craft beer GGeek Company,’ celebrated the news of winning the prestigious KIBA (Korea International Beer Award), a testament to the company’s dedication to crafting exceptional products.

Gadget Korea, a data roaming service provider operating on eSIM technology, earned recognition as ‘CORE100’ by Seoul Investment Agency and successfully closed Pre-A round funding worth 2 billion won. The funding round saw investments from prominent entities like Murex Partners, Blue Point Partners, Hite Jinro, Home & Shopping, and Smilegate Investment, solidifying Gadget Korea’s market presence.

Field Mentor, a platform facilitating professional golfer recruiting and matching services, secured seed investment from Kim Hyeon-joon, co-founder of Vyuno and VYTE. Additionally, the company announced preparations for the highly-anticipated second season of the Master Class of God Deok-ho, a prestigious golf course set to commence in August.
