The Korean startup ecosystem is experiencing rapid growth, driven by a surge of innovation and substantial government support. As a result, it has emerged as an attractive hub for global investors. In recognition of this expanding potential, the  Korea Venture Business Association (KOVA), in collaboration with beSUCCESS Media Group, is organizing a delegation of top Korean startups to visit the USA from October 28 to November 1, 2024.

This delegation will highlight eight of South Korea’s most innovative startups, joined by government officials and representatives from KOVA and beSUCCESS Media Group. These companies are part of the 2024 Gangnam Global Roadshow, a premier event designed to showcase Korea’s entrepreneurial talent on the global stage.

In preparation for this roadshow, 12 leading Korean startups participated in an acceleration program between June 26 and August 7, 2024. During this period, they received invaluable mentorship from top investors in the USA and Singapore. While three startups are set to visit Singapore from October 7 to 11, eight others are gearing up to make a lasting impression in the USA.

KOVA, a key player in South Korea’s innovation landscape with a network of over 40,000 companies, is organizing this visit to strengthen international ties and create opportunities for Korean startups to expand into the competitive USA market. The focus is on fostering collaboration and unlocking new growth avenues.

Exclusive Investor Meetings and Pitch Sessions

This high-profile event offers investors, venture capitalists, and industry leaders a unique opportunity to meet directly with the founders of these promising Korean startups. Attendees will have the chance to explore cutting-edge technologies and emerging business models.

During the delegation’s time in the USA, startups will engage in strategic meetings with accelerators, venture capital firms, and global corporate innovation leaders.

They will also pitch their business ideas to explore potential partnerships and investment opportunities. A dedicated demo day will be held on October 29th, at the O’Melveny & Myers LLP office (2765 Sand Hill Rd, Menlo Park), from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM.

  2. Impact AI: Offering a cutting-edge SaaS platform, OASIS, that uses AI to optimize advertising spend with data-driven media mix recommendations.
  3. The StemBank: A leader in beautytech, providing innovative stem cell-based raw materials and services for the cosmetics industry.
  4. xCREW: Enhancing travel experiences globally with its tour and activity platform, designed to provide seamless user interactions.
  5. Bilix: Pioneering biotechnology with Brixelle®, a platform using PEGylated bilirubin to protect against oxidative stress.

  8. Contactus: Leading innovation in property management with AI and AIoT solutions under its brand Doongji.

Forging the Future of Global Collaborations

This USA visit is more than just a pitch event—it’s a strategic move aimed at cultivating long-term relationships between South Korea’s dynamic startups and international investors. The roadshow promises to unlock future collaborations that will drive growth, innovation, and mutual success.

By bridging the gap between the Korean startup scene and global markets, the event is set to pave the way for groundbreaking business ventures and investment opportunities.

This delegation visit underscores the growing influence of Korea’s startup ecosystem, and it is an exceptional chance for investors to tap into a thriving landscape ripe with innovation.
