Korean Edtech startup Riiid is set to offer its AI-driven education app content to US-based education service provider Kaplan. This announcement by Riiid comes as part of its global expansion plan after raising a Series D investment of $41.8 million in July 2020.

AI-driven solution for competitive exams

Riiid has signed a contract for individual-tailored learning content for Kaplan, which is a global education service provider operating in over 30 countries. Riiid is known for its ‘SANTA TOIEC’ (Test of English for International Communication) test prep platform that provides services in Korea and Japan.

With Kaplan, the Edtech Korean startup will develop an AI home tutoring program focussed on the GRE and GMAT exams. Riiid will be provided 10-year anonymized learner data, including exam content, evaluation items, and test scores by Kaplan for the AI-driven app development. Riiid will use its deep learning algorithm solution to develop the GRE and GMAT tutoring app, which can predict individual test scores and learning behaviors and help users achieve learning goals within a set time frame.

Riiid’s international footprints

Kaplan is an American education company founded in 1938. It is a leading diversified education provider offering students, businesses, and university partners various services like higher and professional education, test preparation, online learning and assessments, international student recruitment and university pathways, and language training. Kaplan’s worldwide sales surpassed 1.8 trillion won or $1.5 billion in 2018.

Riiid is a leading edtech startup whose SANTA TOIEC is quite favored among those looking for personalized AI-based e-learning solutions to boost TOEIC scores. Riiid had announced in 2020 about its entry to the American shores with its global arm Riiid Labs. In July, Riiid had signed an MoU for joint business with UAE-based global education service provider ConnecME Education. With the deal with Kaplan, Riiid is set to rule the American edtech market for AI-driven solutions.
