In a bid to address critical concerns regarding public toilet safety, South Korean startup Unini has launched Savvy, an AI-based smart security service set to redefine security and cleanliness standards in public toilets . Savvy is poised to revolutionize toilet security, utilizing cutting-edge technology to safeguard against illegal activities, monitor cleanliness, and enhance the well-being of senior and disabled toilet users.

A Novel Approach to Toilet Safety

Uniuni’s mission is to transform public toilets from potentially dangerous and unsatisfactory spaces into safe and pleasant environments for everyone. Public toilets have long been considered a prime location for illegal activities, posing serious social issues. With Savvy, these issues are being systematically addressed, and urgent solutions are being implemented.

One of the critical problems Savvy tackles is illegal photography, a pervasive issue in public toilets. This is a matter of serious concern, as it invades individuals’ privacy and violates their rights. Savvy employs advanced technology to detect and prevent such incidents, offering a timely response to a growing societal problem.

A distinguishing feature of Savvy is its responsiveness to the unique societal concerns prevalent in South Korea. Notably, it is the only country where spy cameras, often used for illicit purposes, have been found hidden in women’s toilets. The severity of this issue has even led to individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts as a result of being victimized. Savvy’s commitment to tackling this issue head-on is evident through its comprehensive approach to illegal activities.

Savvy’s Multifaceted Solutions

Savvy’s multifaceted approach to toilet security involves real-time detection and notification systems. When a senior or handicapped individual enters a toilet, the Savvy device automatically detects their presence and monitors their activity. In the event of suspicious behaviours, such as illegal photography or signs of distress, Savvy alerts the authorities, ensuring that help is just moments away, whether it’s the police or emergency services like 911.

Savvy

Additionally, Savvy is equipped to assess toilet cleanliness. Unsatisfactory hygiene conditions are detected and reported, prompting immediate action to rectify the situation. The result is a cleaner and safer toilet environment for all users.

Savvy’s comprehensive ecosystem includes a web service and app that provides real-time data and management features. This allows users to monitor toilet conditions, receive alerts, and take necessary actions. Savvy’s dedication to privacy is evident, as personal information is never identified or compromised.

A Safer Future with Savvy

Uniuni’s Savvy stands out among its competitors through its 24/7 real-time monitoring capabilities. Unlike previous solutions that required physical inspections, Savvy operates automatically, generating alerts when it detects suspicious behaviours or cleanliness issues. This level of automation ensures a rapid response to any potential security or hygiene concerns.

Savvy’s real-time detection and immediate notification enable law enforcement to respond promptly, potentially preventing harm to innocent individuals.

Savvy

Moreover, Savvy is a boon for elderly care. It ensures that senior citizens and handicapped individuals can use public toilets with peace of mind, knowing that help is readily available should they need it. The system’s monitoring of cleanliness further enhances the toilet experience for all users.

Savvy’s deployment in public toilets is set to usher in a new era of public safety and hygiene. By harnessing AI-based technology, Savvy offers a comprehensive solution that addresses pressing societal concerns and enhances the restroom experience for everyone.
