Wrtn Technologies, a Korean artificial intelligence (AI) service platform company, has announced it will provide unlimited free access to GPT-5, the latest flagship large language model (LLM) from OpenAI. The initiative removes cost and usage barriers to GPT-5’s premium version as offered on Wrtn’s own platform, broadening access to advanced AI tools and supporting Korea’s position as a fast-adopter market in the global AI ecosystem.

The announcement was made on August 8, 2025, shortly after OpenAI officially launched GPT-5. The rollout began the same morning across Wrtn’s mobile application and web platform, complete with a newly created “GPT-5” dedicated menu for instant access.

GPT-5: OpenAI’s Latest Flagship Model

OpenAI describes GPT-5 as its most advanced model to date, combining the conversational strengths of GPT-4o with the complex reasoning capabilities of the o3 model. The upgrade aims to deliver more accurate responses, faster processing, and improved conversational flow.

GPT-5 was released with both free and paid tiers. The free tier has usage limits, while the paid tier provides broader access.

Wrtn’s Strategy: Unlocking Paid-Tier Benefits for All Users

By offering GPT-5’s premium-tier version to all platform users, Wrtn Technologies is removing the usage restrictions typically applied to free-tier access. The company applied a similar strategy in 2023, when it became the first in Korea to provide unlimited free access to GPT-4 on launch day.

This latest move reflects Wrtn’s focus on platform-based AI accessibility rather than direct monetization of LLM usage. However, questions remain about the sustainability of unlimited free access, given dependency on OpenAI’s model infrastructure and potential changes in API costs.

Wrtn Technologies’ Mission: Integrating GPT-5 Into a Daily AI Access Point

According to company statements, Wrtn Technologies’ mission is to “bring AGI closer to people.” The company is developing a next-generation natural language interface portal that it envisions as the first screen users access to complete any task. GPT-5’s integration into its platform aligns with this vision, demonstrating how advanced LLMs can be embedded into consumer-facing services for everyday use.

The long-term plan includes building a local, daily B2C platform powered by an autonomous agent capable of handling diverse tasks, from information retrieval to complex reasoning. By making GPT-5’s paid-tier capabilities available without cost or usage limits, Wrtn is positioning its platform as a practical testbed for how cutting-edge AI can be scaled for the public.

Led by CEO Lee Se-young, Wrtn frames this approach as part of Korea’s broader push toward accessible, high-performance AI services.

“Since our founding, it has been our long-standing goal to help everyone in the country use AI easily and conveniently without financial burden. Offering the paid GPT-5 service for free and without limits is part of that ongoing effort, and we will continue working to ensure that everyone can enjoy the benefits of AI equally.”

How Wrtn’s Unlimited GPT-5 Access Affects Korea’s AI Competitiveness

Wrtn’s decision positions it as a notable player among Korean AI startups offering GPT-5, with implications for both consumer adoption and market competition.

By enabling GPT-5 free access, the company may:

  • Expand public exposure to advanced AI tools.
  • Increase early adoption rates of GPT-5 in Korea.
  • Provide test cases for AI-assisted services in education, business, and creative industries.

While the move could boost Korea’s standing as a fast-adopter market in the global AI race, competitive responses from other AI platforms and the cost implications of maintaining unlimited access will determine its long-term impact.

Use GPT-5 without paying as Korean AI startup Wrtn Technologies offers unlimited free access to the model’s paid-tier features.
