IntelliQuant is a Korean fintech startup providing algorithmic investment platform services based on big data and AI technologies for financial and crypto assets. The startup’s DIY quantitative investment platform IQ Studio offers various financial and market data essential for establishing quantitative investment strategies.

IQ Studio enables users to evaluate various investment factors of stocks and ETFs so that investment strategies can be implemented with a specific algorithm. The performance of implemented investment strategies can be checked in advance in various market situations through backtesting, and the detailed algorithm can be adjusted to suit users’ preferences. The backtesting function provided by IQ Studio enables realistic simulations in which all the transaction costs are reflected, rather than estimating tests based on rough assumptions.

IntelliQuant started its business by providing Robo-advisor services through a partnership with Hanwha Investment & Securities in 2016. IQ Studio has been helping individual investors to develop quantitative investment strategies since 2017. It provides a cloud-based service so individual investors can freely use the financial big data analysis environment, allowing them to access and analyze data. It also supports powerful templates and libraries to express a factor model or strategic/tactical asset allocation model in developing portfolio construction and rebalancing algorithms.

Leading in domestic market & expansion to foreign market

CEO Lee Jongkwon said, “We provide an environment and service where individual investors can invest in a smart way, through the development of an algorithmic investment platform. It is now leading in quantitative investment management services for individual investors and has partnered with major securities companies such as NH Investment & Securities. We are extending the platform as a market-type Robo-advisor service where users can publish and/or subscribe to various investment algorithms in the marketplace so that they can construct and manage their customized portfolios.”

According to the company, IntelliQuant has provided 5,600 cumulative users with financial and price data for over 20 years of all stocks listed in Korea. The startup also upgraded the platform for US listed stocks. IntelliQuant now provides over 10 years of historical data for all stocks and ETFs on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and NASDAQ in the United States and are planning to extend the historical data over the past 20 years. The company explains that anyone who wants to invest in US stocks and ETFs can now develop and validate a quantitative investment strategy in IntelliQuant.
