Korean startup Botanicsens Inc. has an effective beauty care regime based on science. Botanicsens is quite a popular beauty care brand in South Korea and globally.

Using natural ingredients to make products

Botanicsens uses the most natural ingredients that help strengthen skin cells. The core ingredient that the skincare product developer uses is called Ionone. Ionone is an aroma compound found in flowers, fruits, like violets, raspberries, carrots, etc. Ionone quickly penetrates the skin to reach the collagen creating dermis layer and encourages the body to synthesize collagen that firms the skin layer eventually.

Compared with existing cosmetic products Botanicsens has developed the technology to induce the skin to make the necessary ingredients on its own. This gives the skin its natural strength, making it resilient. The high-function compounds used in Botanicsens products send signals that help the skin excellently execute its original functions by encouraging the synthesize collagen, hyaluronic acid, and more. Activating this mechanism helps the skin firm from within. The brand has a variety of products like body wash, hand cream, body oil, body cream, sun cream, scalp tonic, etc. Botanicsens products are available in Korea and other countries like the USA as well as by online ordering.

The outcome of research at Yonsei University

Botanicsens is a scientific evidence-based dermacosmetic brand, established by Taesun Park (TSPARK Lab), a professor at Yonsei University in November 2017. The startup is an outcome from Yonsei University’s TSPARK Lab researches olfactory receptors and the functionality of compounds found in plants. The research team first discovered that the site of drug action for anti-obesity medication is in the olfactory receptors. One after the other, discoveries of the various functionalities of scent compounds in the improvement of wrinkles, improvement of atopy, promoting hair growth, reducing stress, and more happened through theses and patents. Based on the effectiveness of the ingredients from plants, the brand seeks to lead a new paradigm with skincare products the world has never seen before.
