Teaching kids time management and organisational skills can be a daunting chore, but with the freely available Korean app Timo, it can be a fun-filled and engaging task. Developed by Korean startup Timo Inc., the app is available for Android and Apple devices.

Various tasks with star rewards

Timo is basically a simple yet colourful time-management app, with various features like routine, schedule, to-dos, task manager, reminder, and a visual timer for kids. The app is simple to use for a child, who can manage their task by themselves.

The app has colourful graphical characters and scenes appealing to a child’s mind. There are 65 tasks and activities installed in the app, which the child can do. Each task completion is rewarded with a star upon work well done. The app also has a weekly report about the number of stars earned, motivating the child to perform better and also inculcate healthy habits.

You can let the child select his or her own morning routine like brushing teeth, eating breakfast, getting dressed, going to school, etc. You can even make your child aware of daily home responsibilities by putting it as task to help mom in the kitchen in the evening or setting up the dinner table. The child can have their own bedtime routines to follow.

Each task on the app is set between 5 to 60 minutes. Kids can understand the time of task visually. Timo also gives a 10 second countdown before the time is up for any task, making it challenging for kids as they finish the task. Timo is meant for kids 3 to 8 years old ideally, but can be fun for older kids as well. Timo can be used for those with special needs or ADHD to help them become more organised.

Combination of Entertainment and Education

Timo has been built based on the Montessori philosophy learning method, with a goal to raise an independent child. Timo is available in English, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Spanish. With its Family sharing set up, Timo can be used by up to six members of a family. This innovative time management tool will keep your child engaged and become a productive person. Instead of a child spending hours playing games on an iPad or tablet, use of Timo can create a positive diversion.
