K-Beauty products are popular worldwide, and their demand is growing each year. According to a report, the global K-beauty products industry generated $10.2 billion in 2019, is projected to reach $13.9 billion in 2027.

Korean startup Seoul Unniedeul wants to share the story behind K-Beauty products through its unique content platform. The K-Beauty content platform called ‘Star Secret Korea’ has over 1.05 million Facebook followers and is the number one K-beauty content commerce platform in Myanmar.

Curated K-Beauty tips & expert advise

Star Secret Korea’s platform followers can enjoy beauty content curated by professional Korean beauty editors and purchase products through 1:1 consultation. The company’s target audience is young women in their 20s and 30s, seeing an overwhelming response. The average number of views per beauty content in Star Secret Korea is over 800,000.

The platform has generated more than 3000 different video content to date and growing. Currently, over 40 high-quality K-beauty brands can be found in Star Secret Korea’s commerce platform. Seoul Unniedeul works on the brands’ behalf through handling FDA issuance and export and marketing licenses needed to enter the Myanmar market.

Expansion plan to ASEAN market

Seoul Unniedeul had established its platform in 2018 in the Myanmar content commerce market through Facebook. The startup now wants to expand the beauty content platform to other ASEAN markets such as Vietnam and Thailand. Seoul Unniedeul aims to produce realistic tourism content that incorporates various aspects of beauty trends to showcase a new perspective of Korea and sell tourism-linked beauty products.

Seoul Unniedeul also wants to translate K-Beauty contents into English and promote them in various media platforms such as Facebook, Youtube and TikTok to other major language markets. In 2020, Seoul Unniedeul attracted investment through Lotte’s Startup Accelerator program, “L-Camp.”
